In 2003, the
AIA Education Committee developed a Code of Ethics for those
who earn their CAIP designation **. The AIA Board of Directors
requires that all current and future CAIP holders accept and
agree to the Code. The CAIP Code of Ethics is printed below.
I recognize that an organization's Code of Ethics has no
value unless its individual members are committed to it, practice
it and are inspired by it to establish and improve their own
personal code of ethics.
As a holder of the Certified Aviation Insurance Professional
designation, I agree:
To show pride in my profession and
to do my part to enhance the integrity and image of the aviation
insurance business.
To continue my professional education beyond the minimum required
by law in order to achieve the highest possible level of expertise
in service to those with whom I deal. And, I will encourage
others to do likewise and be a positive influence on those
in the profession with less experience.
To maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, rules and
regulations related to my business endeavors and to act accordingly.
To conduct all business activities in the spirit of utmost
good faith and to resolve unclear issues with the best interest
of the insurance buyer in mind.
To cooperate with others whose services are constructively
related to meeting the needs of the insurance buyer with whom
I may be involved.
To treat all with whom I deal in the same manner as I would
like to be treated
