In order
to apply for your CAIP designation, you must have successfully
completed the five required courses (or received equivalent
exemptions), worked full-time in the aviation industry for
at least five years, completed the application and submitted
your $100 application fee. Applications will not be processed
without payment.
CAIP Course Structure
To earn the CAIP, applicants must have the following:
Worked at least 5 years in the Aviation Insurance Industry
Completed CPCU 530 -- The Legal Environment of Risk Managment
and Insurance
Completed CPCU 520 -- Insurance Operations, Regulation and
Statutory Accounting
Completed CPCU 552 -- Commercial Liability Risk Managment
and Insurance
Completed CPCU 510 -- Foundations of Risk Management, Insurance
and Professionalism
Completed AIA's Aviation Insurance and Risk Managment Course
Completed the CAIP Application
If an applicant has earned the CPCU or the CIC designation,
all of the CPCU required courses will be waived. The only
course the individual would be required to take is AIA's Aviation
Insurance and Risk Management.
CAIP designations are awarded once a year during the AIA
annual conference. To be eligible for the designation during
the conference, all applications must be submitted to AIA
headquarters for processing NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 1 of that
year.
